If you spend a lot of time at your desk, whether its for work or fun, I’d recommend investing in your setup. As someone who works remotely on a computer, and also spends his free time at this desk, I wanted to have a high-quality, ergonomic setup, that was a joy to be at.
I took a dive into standing desks. I had learned a lot about those conversion kits that exist, like the VariDesk, but I ultimately decided against a partial solution. I decided I wanted a full standup-sit-down-desk, that would remember its positions. That meant the desk had to be electronic.
After pouring over many different options, I decided on piecing together a build. That meant I wouldn’t be buying a ready-to-go-desk, and instead had to separately pick out a electronic frame, with memory, adjustable sizing, and a top.
I decided to go with the AIMEZO Standing Desk Frame, Dual Motor Electric Height Adjustable Sit Stand Desk Frame with 4 Memory, as this checked all my boxes, and was a reasonable price.
To turn this frame into a desk, I put Solid Acacia Butcher Block Countertop on it. This combination has been incredible, and I have zero regrets.
On top of said standing desk, I rock this EZM Deluxe Triple Monitor Stand.
This stand holds 2x ASUS VG248QE 24 monitors in portrait mode on my left, and right. In the center, I have Acer Predator XB271HU 27 monitor.
For a keyboard, I use the very unique Kinesis Advantage 2. This keyboard took a few weeks to get used to, but now I prefer coding on it, over all other keyboards. Notice how on traditional keyboards, you generally use your thumb for only the space bar. However, on the Kinesis, your thumbs are responsible for so many other keys. This is so much more ergonomic.
For a mouse, I use the Kensington Orbit Trackball Mouse. To try to increase the ergonomic-ness of my setup, I often use the keyboard exclusively with a keyboard. However, when I have to reach for a mouse, I use this one. Often, with my left hand, to make mouse usage an ambidextrous task.
To top it all off, I ended up getting this DeerRun Walking Under Desk Treadmill. This treadmill was much cheaper then I expected. To my surprise, I’ve found that I’m able to type, and walk on it at 1.5 MPH. This is an incredibly convenient way to “get some steps in”, while working a desk job.
